Organisation - Thames Homeless Project
Hours - Part Time (20 hours per week)
Contract - 6 Months (self-employed)
Position - Developement Manager

Salary - £30, 000 - £35, 000 pa (pro rata)
THP is a small charity dedicated to help prevent homelessness and alleviate the effects of homelessness for people from Elmbridge, Runnymede and Spelthorne who do not qualify for help from the local authorities (non-statutory homeless).
The role is to scope objectives to expand, re-energise and refocus THP activities, working in partnership with other local organisations and agencies, to address non-statutory homelessness in these boroughs. It is envisaged that the post holder will provide a formal option appraisal report to Trustees on the way forward, together with a project plan for delivery. The post holder will also be responsible for the day to day existing activities of the charity.
The successful candidate will have previous knowledge and evidence of successful organisational development and management. You will have the drive and experience as a self-starter to deliver
outcomes with minimal supervision and develop productive working relationships. Ideally you will have
extensive knowledge of need, issues and existing provision in this area of Surrey.

Hours - Part Time (up to 20 hours per week)
Contract - Fixed Term For 12 Months

Salary - £9.00 per hour equivalent to an annualised figure of £9360 (based on a £20 hour week). Details of other terms and conditions of employment are available on application from the CHEER Managers.
For over 60 years CHEER has been helping the elderly in East Elmbridge. We have 2 part-time staff, 1 of whom is due to take maternity leave. We also have 20 volunteers. The personal attributes you will need include experience of working with older people, team management and office experience.
You will need to be able to operate independently, and work under pressure. Experience of working with volunteers would be advantageous as would a knowledge of Health and Adult Community Care structures and services.
You will:
Work with the CHEER Manager to develop and
implement appropriate services and policies
In conjunction with the Manager, maintain and
develop sustainable funding
Carry out home visits to clients, providing
advice – including assistance in benefit form completion
In conjunction with the Manager, manage and
develop the Befriending Scheme and associated projects
Evaluate the impact that CHEER’s services have
on those who use them
Attend Cheer Trustee Meetings and make
appropriate reports
Have the opportunity to devise and develop
events to attract volunteers, clients and funds
Have the satisfaction of seeing your events
reach out to those in need and attract those who are isolated to build new
relationships
Work with a small busy and professional charity
to gain insight into the voluntary sector

Location:
Claygate, Surrey: But with a requirement to travel within Elmbridge or a reasonable distance outside the Borough – ability to drive is essential. You must be able to drive and have the use of a car.
