Volunteer Centre Elmbridge can help your company engage with local organisations in a number of ways:
A team of people can make a huge difference to an organisation in just one or two days. A typical activity may include painting, decorating, gardening or conservation. It is fantastic way of involving the whole team; the joint sense of satisfaction from completing a piece of work together can create better working relationships between colleagues back in the office, and it’s all for a great cause!
Skillshare – Short and Long Term
Contributing to the community to lend professional skills to voluntary and community organisations, so they can benefit from professional skills and knowledge to grow and develop in line with the times.
Organisations are often run on a shoe string with limited resources and are open to any extra support they can get; particularly from professionally trained people whose support can go a long way.
Examples of this are: Admin, IT and Finance support, Building Management, Health and Safety, Design, Marketing and PR, Print Management, Business Planning, Auditing, Training
Offering resources from within your company for example conference rooms, printing resources, catering supplies and donating used IT equipment /office furniture/stationary will benefit local organisations looking to extend their pool of resources.

“Our specific task was to create more space in the car park to allow the staff somewhere to park. We’ve worked from 10:30- 16:30, knocking down fences, cutting down trees, clearing up the land, gardening, all-in-all we cleared about 5 skips worth…A tremendous effort by all. I personally really enjoyed being able to give something back to the community, despite having aches and pains in muscles I didn’t know I had, but it was worth it.” P&G Employee Volunteer
CSR work in Elmbridge
Volunteer Centre Elmbridge introduced AXA Insurance, Experian and RBS Rainbow Trust to support them with their wrapping events and storage sorting. A total of 92 hours were donated via these corporates as a result of our introduction. AXA Insurance wanted to nominate a Charity of The Year (2016), Volunteer Centre Elmbridge co-ordinated on their behalf and they are now supporting Whiteley Village throughout 2026 via fundraising and volunteering.
Volunteer Centre Elmbridge brokered a relationship between Dairy Crest and Homestart Elmbridge. Dairy Crest wanted to support a children’s charity in the run up to Christmas by providing gifts. We developed an ‘Angel Tree’ where employees took a tag from the tree in the office foyer, which had an age and gender on and then bought a gift to the value of £5-£20. Dairy Crest had an overwhelming response from their employees and requested additional tags from Homestart! In summary 99 children received a gift!
Volunteer Centre Elmbridge has also linked Whiteley Village with Aerial Views, who are volunteering to undertake a complementary aerial shoot of the village.
We also participate on the Business@Brooklands quarterly CSR Forum.
