Project for Group Volunteering
Walton Charity , Walton 5 – 30 people
Has started a new project in conjunction with the Paragon Housing Group to create a Community Allotment. The site is on Terrace Road Allotments, Walton on Thames.KT12 2DY. This is a community project, where people from different sections of our local community all work together. It is targeted at those who wouldn’t normally get involved in growing food. Everybody is welcome to take part in growing/gardening, learning and developing hands on skills, and share the harvest. Whilst the key focus of the project is around learning basic horticultural skills, the project could also address social inclusion, and could specifically target those who might not normally be involved in such activities or who face particular barriers associated with mental health, disability, isolation, poverty or are otherwise vulnerable or in need.
With all this rain that we have had, the site could benefit from a few extra hands from a corporate group to clear some overgrown sections, and get beds ready for the next phase of the project – they also have a new project involving creating a raspberry bush climber from old bike wheels, making benches out of pallets. Please note access to toilets at the Excel Leisure Centre roughly 5 mins walk from the site and you need to provide refreshments/snacks for your team.

Would be interested in developing a relationship with a corporate to deliver a budgeting tip course, and perhaps a certificate could be given out afterwards.
Rape And Sexual Abuse Support Centre, RASASC, Guildford Surrey – Counselling, helplines, groups, ISVA and support for men and women
Would be very happy to receive IT support! It would most likely be on an ad hoc basis and around the following areas:
- Microsoft Office 365 – syncing files, troubleshooting
- Removing/adding new users and getting them set up
- Advice around new systems, for example secure/encrypted email systems
- Syncing email, 365 and CRM with mobile phones
Esher and Claygate Car Service, Surrey – Volunteers visit people in Esher and Claygate areas who are unable to leave their homes and will go shopping, fetch prescriptions, drive older people to the shops and patients to local hospitals in Molesey and Cobham for check-ups. Volunteers drive patients to local doctors, chiropody clinic at Claygate Day Centre, dentists, opticians and some local hospitals; they cannot transport very disabled clients.
We have two projects that might be of interest and certainly would help us a lot.
- One is to write (and maintain) a fairly simple website for the Esher & Claygate Car Service.
- The other is more challenging and that is to write a database to replace our paper based bookings system.
Claygate Recreation Ground Trust, Claygate Surrey
Are looking for help to build a website
Woking and Sam Beare Hospices, Weybridge Surrey – provides palliative care and support to the residents of North Surrey
We have been looking for someone to support our IT manager – we have the attached Role Description.
We are also looking someone who is good with ACCESSS to facilitate some changes to a database
Leatherhead Start, Surrey – improves the lives of homeless people
Would benefit from IT support
Rainbow Trust, Leatherhead Surrey – Caring for families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness.
Our Director of Finance Bob Coyne and IT and Facilities Manager have identified 4 projects where Samsung could support Rainbow Trust and have provided some background on each (please see attachment). These are stand-alone projects to give a flavour of where we need help, he would love support on all of them, but more than happy with any support they may be able to offer. Rainbow Trust would be very keen to build a longer term relationship to support continual IT development.
